Seto Bagh is based on the 1973 historical novel of the same name, one of the most read books in Nepal, written by Diamond Shamser Rana. The film features the last 30 days of Jung Bahadur Rana, a ruler of Nepal and founder of the Rana dynasty of Nepal.

Neer SHAH, is a movie actor, director and producer. He has directed and produces several Nepali movies including Masan and Aakal. He is also a co-producer of the Oscar nominated film Himalaya – L’enfance d’un chef, by Eric Valli. It was the first film from Nepal to win an Oscar nomination.
