ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Sushil Kumar Sah, son of Mr. Jitendra Prasad Sah is a Social Activist and works with Initiative Nepal (steps for better lives), Sano Paila (a little steps) of Birgunj. Besides this, he is an avid lover of Photography. Sushil had been interested in Photography since his childhood itself. His journey from a compact camera to a DSLR had been a fascinating one. Photography for him is a medium to explore the activities going around in this society. He loves to capture the life around; People, the culture and their lifestyle. He believes in bonding with his subjects, sharing a connection and then capturing the true essence of the bond he shares with them.

Since Sushil was a student of humanities and social science, he tries to understand different cultures living in this society. During his field visits he lives with different rural people, bond with them and shares different ideas, opinions and views which give him a sense of confidence for the kind of work he does. Sushil has well managed to balance his work and hobby at the same time. He has been a part of poverty alleviation program at social organization district coordination committee parsa (SODCC) in birganj. During that period Sushil along with doing some social work, made portfolios of people living in poverty and shared them on social media to inspire people to help in mitigation of poverty from Nepal and do something for their society. He was also chosen as the Assistant Director and Digital Photographer by a US base production company, in the making of a documentary named “SACRIFICE: In the name of Goddess Gadhi Mai”.

Sushil does Photography with portraits, landscapes, still life, macro and a very little of fashion. He calls himself a ‘hobby/travel photographer’. He particularly wants to explore more of ‘people and life’ via his photography. He wants to share the beauty of different cultures that lies in our society and says photography can make one feel as if they can hold the whole world in their own hands. He says, “We cannot stop the time but we can capture different actions in our camera and preserve them as a STOPPED MOMENT. Using photography we can stop the culture/tradition from vanishing in this world. ”
