TERAI SEET LAHAR (COLDWAVE) : BLANKET DISTRIBUTION 2.0

As last day of this year, we all are busy making resolution. At Nyano Sansar we are taking resolution to help those who are having difficulties fighting with the bitter cold this year.

With a successful first round of distribution in 7NIGHTS | 5 DAYS we reached out to over 800 families 1400 elderly in 3 districts | 4 municipalities | and over 20 vdcs in south east plains of Nepal .

What started out as a social initiative on the part of Nyano Sansar, It turned out as an eye opener for us and a reality check over our present day social paradigm.
We traveled Village after village only to find tens of thousands of people deprived of essential necessity such as basic education, minimum or no healthcare or even basic nutrition. Time has frozen here, or it's feels that we are pushed behind centuries to a time where there were no hopes against epidemic .

We walked to many remote villages, door to door only to find people sleeping on cold muddy floors and hay stacks as bedding, few clay pots adorning the bare shelves and rags as clothes on their body as their only belonging. A world of different and unthinkable reality then ours. Facts speak stories that cannot be imagined or conceived by us city dwellers .Their dreams and wishes crashing against the cold muddy walls. Their plead of survival and elevation from misery have merely crossed the remote settlements.

We focused on villages of poverty stricken Mushars, Doom & Chamars. These communities are treated as barbarians and pushed deep into remote desolate areas where even basic infrastructure such as roads or communication barely reach and aid from the government is seldom delivered and Health post,schools,maternity facility are nowhere to be found. The majority of the population are living and dying with preventable and curable condition such as Polio, tuberculosis ,typhoid and pneumonia and many blinded by cataracts.


GIVING THEM BLANKETS THIS WINTER IS THE LEAST WE CAN DO, THERE IS SO MUCH TO BE DONE. BUT IT HAS TO BEGIN SOMEWHERE......
