Kathmandu Bolchha : A Video Journalism Workshop

Everybody has a story to tell. A story to share. Every city has its own tale. And so does every street, every corner, every community residing in it. All of them just need a tool. A platform.

You might be interested in documentaries and news clips or making your own short video stories but then wait, you don't have the right equipment or the skill. You don't have a DSLR or a video camera. You don't even know how to do videos.

Is "What to do now?" bothering you? And not having the big equipment coming in your way?

Then, Kathmandu Bolchha: A video Journalism workshop is what you need. It is where you can learn to tell stories through videos, with minimal equipment. All you need is a SMART PHONE or a Simple DIGITAL CAMERA that shoots video. Learn to research stories, go in-depth about interviewing techniques, basic script writing and video editing and be storyteller you always wanted to be.

Facilitator Bio:

MALLIKA ARYAL is a reporter and documentary filmmaker based in Kathmandu. Aryal is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts and studied Documentary Film Production in New York University. She worked as a producer for PBS in Washington DC and ran Film South Asia in Kathmandu. Aryal wrote about the ‘People’s War’, Constituent Assembly Election and Nepal’s transition for Nepali Times and contributes to Inter Press Service from Kathmandu. Aryal believes in making documentary films accessible to all.
