Clean up Nepal Retreat 2014

Caron Dhoju (Clean up Nepal - Bhaktapur) has invited Clean up Nepal Site Coordinators and Volunteers to a two-day hike on the 29th and 30th of November through parts of the Kathmandu Valley Cultural Trekking Trail (KVCTT). KVCTT is a short, culturally rich short trek heading into the forest hills surrounding the valley rim. The trail displays the best of Nepal’s rural culture, biodiversity and stunning Himalayan views that can be enjoyed with simple preparation and minimal equipment. Things to observe: Different kinds of birds and lush greenery, and of course the Himalayas.

The Itinerary:
Day 1: Sundarijal to Chisapani
Local bus from Old Bus Park, Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1 hour drive). Time to be confirmed.
Hike from Sundarijal to Chisapani (approx. 12 kilometers | Expected duration: 4 hours | Altitude rise: 700 meters)
Overnight stay at a basic lodge in Chisapani.
Special note: An entrance fee of NRs. 50 will be required to pass through the Shivapuri National Park.

Day 2: Chisapani to Nagarkot
Early morning breakfast
Hike from Chisapani to Nagarkot (approx. 12 Km)
Lunch at Jhule
Bus to Kathmandu from Jarsinghpauwa

Things to bring: Warm clothes, camera, money, bottle of water, and curious eyes and ears to get lost in the beauty of nature!

Note:
Each trekker is responsible for their own meals and accommodation expenses.

Expected budget per participant is NRs. 1,000 - 1,500
Please bring warm clothes as it can be quite chilly and windy in Chisapani.
